A superb early 20th century carved oak dresser sideboard of striking Gothic Revival design.
This is a statement piece. The upper hutch features three carved arched panels with intricate foliate detailing and a shaped open plate rack shelf beneath. The lower section has two drawers over three cupboard doors, all richly carved with Gothic tracery and floral motifs.
The carving throughout is crisp and deeply cut, with wonderful shadowing and depth. The drawer fronts carry repeating arch designs, and the central cupboard doors echo cathedral-style panels. Raised on turned front legs with stretcher base.
The oak has a beautiful aged tone - warm with darker grain movement and natural variation across the plank top. Internally, the cupboards are clean and solid, and the drawers retain their original green baize lining with dividers.
Condition
Structurally solid and heavy.
Age-related wear to the top including marks and surface character consistent with use. Minor historic marks inside cupboards. Original handles and hinges present. Drawers run well and retain original baize lining. No structural issues.
