Early 20th Century oak roll top desk by Cutler & Co with twin pedestals. Over eight drawers gives you great storage potential. Two pull-out slides which offer added work space when needed or handy just to rest your cuppa on! The interior is made up of pigeon holes and further smaller drawers. The roll top all works as it should.
Abner Cutler & Son, cabinetmakers in Buffalo, NY, began production in the late 1820s. Specializing in rolltop desks, they obtained seven patents for the desk mechanism. By the 1870s, the firm was named 'Cutler & Son' and showcased desks at the 1876 Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition. In the early 1900s, it became the 'Cutler Desk Co.' In 1930, the Sikes Chair Co. of Buffalo acquired the company.
Condition report- In original/used condition. The odd scuff and scrape in line with age and use.
Overall, a well made, solid oak desk with a rich honey oak patina.
