A circa 1900 carved oak D-shaped side table, fitted with a single drawer and raised on turned front legs. The frieze is richly relief carved with scrolling foliate decoration, with further carved detail to the corners, legs and top border. The shaped top has been stripped and oiled, leaving a lighter finish that shows the oak grain and carved border clearly.
A useful size for a hallway, landing, sitting room or bedroom, and could also work as a small console table or lamp table.
Condition
Solid and usable. Previously darker in finish and now stripped and oiled. General age-related wear, marks and surface variation in keeping with age and restoration. Carving remains crisp and decorative. Drawer runs as it should. Overall presents well.
