George V Mahogany Kneehole Desk – Circa 1930
This handsome desk dates to the George V period (circa 1930) and was sourced from a magistrates’ court in Downham Market, Norfolk. Originally issued to military bases and civil service offices, this example features official markings: a stamped crown and “G.R.” (George Rex) on the drawer front. The desk front has the stamp crown and “C.S” Civil Service
Crafted from solid mahogany, the desk features:
• Rectangular top with green inset writing surface
• Four drawers (two per pedestal), each with original brass cup handles
• Square tapering legs for a clean, classic silhouette
Condition:
Well presented with wear and patina consistent with age. Fully functional and structurally sound, ready for home or office use.
