A handsome pair of antique beechwood boot trees, dating to the late 19th / early 20th century and bearing the original maker’s label for Maxwell, 8 Dover Street, London.
Each boot tree is of substantial, three-part construction, designed to hold tall riding or gentleman’s boots in correct shape when not in use. The segmented sections allow the tree to expand within the boot, helping prevent creasing and collapse of the leather.
The trees retain their original leather straps and buckles, used to tension and secure the sections in place. They show honest wear throughout, consistent with age and long use, which adds to their character and decorative appeal.
Ideal for display in a hallway, dressing room, shop interior or alongside a boot chest. Please note they do not stand independently and will need to be leaned or supported if displayed upright.
