Antique Victorian Carved Oak Chaise Longue – Rouge Upholstery
A beautifully decorative late Victorian carved oak framed chaise longue, dating to the late 19th century, upholstered in rich rouge red Dralon with a deep buttoned scroll-end backrest.
The wonderfully detailed oak frame features elaborate carved scrolling foliage and mythical beast motifs, including distinctive dragon-like creatures to the sides and ends.
The raised scroll-end backrest provides an elegant reclining position, while the opposite side features a long upholstered armrest supported by an intricately carved and pierced oak panel.
Standing on carved square supports terminating in castors, with traditional studded upholstery edging completing the period appearance.
A striking piece of Victorian furniture with plenty of character, ideal for a country house drawing room, bedroom, dressing room or as a statement occasional sofa.
