A characterful Victorian mahogany writing table with compact, highly versatile proportions.
The rectangular top features gently rounded corners and a dark rexine writing inset, raised above a plain mahogany frieze. The table stands on four elegant turned and tapering supports.
Its simple design allows it to work equally well as a small writing desk, laptop table, console table, hall table or occasional side table. A useful antique piece with a warm, naturally aged appearance.
Condition Report
Solid and usable antique condition with considerable wear throughout. The mahogany has numerous knocks, scratches, marks, fading and colour variation consistent with age and use.
The rexine writing surface is heavily worn and marked, with staining, scratches, scuffs, small losses and areas of discolouration. There is further wear around the rounded edges, frieze and legs. The table has no drawers.
Its timeworn condition gives it plenty of authentic character, but the surface is far from pristine. Please study all photographs carefully.
