Antique Victorian Oak & Brass Peat Bucket – Coal Scuttle / Log Holder c.1880

A beautifully aged Victorian oak peat bucket, c.1880, featuring rich patinated oak staves bound in gleaming brass bands. It retains its original swing handle with chunky brass fittings and rivets. The wood has a lovely grain and characterful signs of use, with a darkened interior from its original purpose.

Traditionally used for holding peat or coal beside the hearth, it now works perfectly as a decorative log or kindling basket, or feature planter.

Condition:

Solid and sturdy, with wear and tarnish consistent with age. Aged patina to the brass and charming rustic surface marks to the oak. Cleaned and ready to use.
