Edwardian satin walnut chest of drawers of classic square-front form, arranged as two short drawers over two long drawers. The piece displays a warm walnut tone with attractive grain throughout, complemented by original-style brass swan-neck handles.
Originally designed as a dresser base, this chest would have had a mirrored back fitted to the rear. Evidence of the former mirror supports and fixing points is clearly visible, confirming its original configuration. It now works perfectly well as a standalone chest and presents cleanly from the front and sides.
A solid, practical Edwardian piece - ideal for bedroom, hallway, or dressing room use.
Condition
Good antique condition overall, consistent with age and use. General surface wear, marks, and colour variation throughout. Small historic knocks and scuffs visible on edges and top. The mirrored back is no longer present, with original fixing marks and screw holes remaining as evidence. Drawers run well and the piece stands solid.
