A mid-19th century mahogany and ebony strung square-front chest of drawers, having two short drawers over three long graduated drawers.
The chest has a warm figured mahogany colour, ebony stringing detail, turned wooden handles and keyhole escutcheons. A good quality antique piece with attractive age, colour and character, suitable for bedroom storage, hallway use or as a decorative statement piece in a traditional or period interior.
The original drawer linings are present, with historical repairs visible.
Condition
Good antique condition with age-related wear throughout. There are various surface marks, knocks, old repairs and areas of historical restoration, as shown in the photos. Some wear to the top, sides and drawer fronts, consistent with age and use.
