A genuine Georgian oak bureau, dating to the late Georgian period, circa 1800–1820. A well-proportioned and honest example, built for use and still perfectly suited to modern living.
The sloping fall front opens to reveal a traditional fitted interior with pigeon holes, small drawers and a central cupboard, ideal for paperwork, stationery or a discreet laptop setup. Below sit four long graduated drawers, all fitted with original brass swan-neck handles and escutcheons.
The oak has matured beautifully over time, developing a rich, warm tone with plenty of character. Raised on classic Georgian bracket feet, this is a practical antique that works equally well in a study, hallway or living space.
Condition
Structurally solid and in good working order.
Expected light surface wear, marks, knocks, consistent with age and use, all adding to the character. Drawers open and close well. Interior shows genuine period construction.
