A fantastic pair of vintage IKEA Poäng armchairs. Designed by Japanese designer Noboru Nakamura, the iconic Poäng chair was first introduced by IKEA in 1976 under the name POEM, before being renamed POÄNG in 1992.
The leather has faded and mellowed wonderfully over the years, creating a superb timeworn appearance with plenty of genuine character. The variation in colour gives these chairs far more interest than newer examples and makes them ideal for a vintage, industrial or mid-century-inspired interior.
With their gently sprung cantilever frames, high backs and separate padded headrests, they are also extremely comfortable. A particularly attractive pair for a living room, reading area, office or bedroom.

Condition Report
Good vintage condition with plenty of age-related character.
The green leather displays considerable fading, colour variation, creasing, surface scratches and general wear throughout, particularly across the headrests and seats. This creates the wonderfully distressed appearance shown clearly in the photographs and video.
There are some minor marks and signs of use to the bentwood frames. No major tears or splits to the leather have been noted, and both frames appear sturdy and usable.
