A substantial vintage riveted galvanised trough planter with heavy-gauge steel construction, reinforced corner plates and an attractive naturally weathered zinc finish.
Originally made for agricultural use, this deep galvanised metal trough is ideal for repurposing as a raised flower bed, large garden planter or olive tree pot. Its generous depth provides ample room for shrubs, ornamental grasses, lavender, herbs, small trees or seasonal bedding plants.
The industrial riveted construction and aged galvanised patina give the planter authentic rustic character, making it well suited to patios, courtyards, farmhouse gardens, entranceways, kitchen gardens and commercial displays.
Condition
Good, honest vintage condition with substantial construction.
Age-related wear throughout, including weathering, staining, scratches, surface rust, internal corrosion and marks from previous agricultural use. There are two holes to one side, as clearly shown in the photographs.
The riveted seams and reinforced corner plates remain present. The trough has not been water tested and is being sold for use as a planter. Drainage holes or an internal liner may be required depending on the intended planting scheme.
