A charming and highly decorative Victorian footstool, dated 1876 and bearing the name W. Jones, likely the original embroiderer. This elegant piece features a shaped walnut base with hand-carved cabriole legs and bold acanthus detailing.
The top is covered in original floral needlepoint tapestry, beautifully worked in soft tones, forming a garland design. The gentle rise and serpentine edge give it both presence and comfort. A true piece of 19th-century domestic craft and elegance.
Perfect for use as a fireside footstool, decorative accent, or even a riser for display.
Condition:
Good antique condition. Structurally sound. Age-related wear and some discolouration to the fabric as shown, consistent with its 19th-century origin. Adds to its charm and authenticity.
