Vintage Chinese Black Lacquer Kang Coffee Table
A wonderfully characterful vintage Chinese low coffee table with a traditional kang-style form.
Finished in aged black lacquer, the table has a large rectangular top with a contrasting inset centre panel, substantial square legs and an open geometric apron running beneath the top.
The black finish has worn naturally around the edges and corners over time, revealing the warm timber beneath and giving the table a fantastic timeworn appearance. A really striking piece that would work particularly well in a relaxed, eclectic or contemporary interior.
Condition Report
Good solid vintage condition with plenty of age-related wear throughout. The black lacquer has knocks, rubbing and areas of loss, particularly around the edges, corners and apron. The inset top also shows wear. We feel this all adds to the character of the piece rather than detracting from it.
