Vintage Chinese Elm Low Sideboard Cabinet
A lovely solid elm low cabinet with plenty of character and some really decorative detailing.
Made in a traditional Chinese style, with two sets of double cupboard doors, large circular metal locking plates and substantial exposed hinges. The carved floral apron running across the base is particularly nice and gives the piece a little more detail without making it overly fussy.
The elm has a warm honey-toned finish with plenty of visible grain, knots and natural variation throughout. Inside are two useful storage compartments, making it a very practical piece for a living room, hallway or dining room.
Its long, low proportions would also make it ideal as a TV cabinet, media unit or low sideboard.
Condition Report
Good vintage condition overall with general age-related marks. There is visible wear to the interior of the doors, along with signs of previous use, all in keeping with the style and age of the piece. The metalwork has an aged finish.
