This vintage wooden first aid box dates from the World War II era and was used by the UK Civil Defence Service. It features the “A.R.P.” marking for Air Raid Precautions and a red cross, signifying its medical use. The “M. ST. JAS” marking likely refers to St. James’s in London or a specific depot. These boxes were carried by ARP wardens to provide immediate aid to bombing victims. This item still contains original medical dressings
