A compelling pair of WWII military brown leather boots, of heavy utilitarian construction associated with Royal Air Force cold-weather and flying use. The boots feature leather pull tabs and fleece-lined interiors, designed for warmth and durability, and are accompanied by their original wooden boot trees with steel cuff fittings. Stamped internally “Made by Cotton (Oxford) Shoe Makers, Leicester”, a well-known British manufacturer associated with wartime contract footwear. These boots have strong visual and historical presence, well suited to RAF or aviation collections, film and theatre prop use, or as decorative display pieces in an industrial or military-inspired interior. The survival of the boot trees is a notable bonus and adds both practicality and display appeal. Condition Good period condition overall. The leather shows honest service wear, scuffs, and creasing consistent with age and use, contributing to their authentic wartime character. The fleece linings are worn and delicate. Wooden trees and steel cuffs are complete, with expected age-related wear. No structural faults observed. Approximate Dimensions • Length heel to toe: 32cm Please be aware that this item show signs of use but that is to be expected considering its age and does add authenticity to the item.
